Today I had a field trip with my class. We started at an office building that houses startups and asks as a sustainability lab. A lot of the building was constructed with sustainable materials and all the furniture was free from companies that would've discarded it otherwise. some of the walls are made from clay and are insulated with hay. The wooden floors in the picture below were constructed from wood scraps. For the small conference room we were in, the floors took 3 workers and 6 days to complete the floor installation, which was very expensive. The 10 year success rate of startups is around 75%, which is significantly higher than in other areas. This is also one of the most educated areas of Denmark, with about 27% of the population having a master's degree or PhD. The area I live in is the most educated area with about 30% of the population having a master's degree or PhD.

After learning about the sustainability lab, I went with some girls from my class to a brunch place. It was very good. A weird thing about Copenhagen is all the avocados are very hard compared to in the US. They don't taste very good and never ripen how they do in the US. I am not sure if they try to grow them here where they aren't native or what the reason is for them tasting bad.

Then, our group went to the Open Air Museum. We did not know what the museum would be so it was quite a surprise when it ended up being a large area of land that was modeled to look like Denmark from 1650-1950. The museum has been open since 1901 and has over 100 modeled houses. Most of the houses looked very similar to me but I think someone who enjoys Scandinavian history would really enjoy seeing this museum. We were able to go inside the houses and get close to the very old furniture. They have horses, geese, and chickens also. I think they have even more animals, but it was too much land to cover so we didn't see everything. There were also older people working as actors who were dressed in antique clothing and doing things like chopping wood and knitting.

After taking a break at my apartment, I ate fries for dinner since the pigeon took my fries last week. I got fries with cheese this time and they were very good.
