This morning, my roommate and I tried to go to Ikea to buy some cheap beach towels, since all the stores around here sell them for $40+ and Amazon takes a long time to deliver but it was closed for Constitution Day. Even the grocery store was closed for the holiday which seems very inconvenient considering people go to the grocery store more frequently here.

Since we couldn't get beach towels, my roommates and I took our shower towels to a place called Islands Brygge. We hadn't explored the area before and it was very different than the other areas of Copenhagen. It seemed to be more recently developed with nice apartments and a lot of families outside playing.

We went to a harbor bath, which is a popular activity in Copenhagen. Essentially, certain areas of the harbor are fenced into smaller sections with floors of different depths. There was a very shallow area for young kids, a deeper area that we went in, and even a diving platform with very deep water beneath. A lot of people were off work today so it was very busy but was fun to people watch. The water is very cold since it comes straight from the harbor and although this is one of the warmest weeks of the year in Copenhagen, it was only 70 degrees and windy. We ended up having ice cream from a place near the baths. I got mango sorbet which was really good and fresh.
